Thanks Nikki, He is putting such a calling on us in these days in which we are living and that call is to go, make disciples, teach, preach, follow Me. I love that you are hearing that call and following it. You can't imagine the blessing you will receive.

Beautiful and timely. Tony and I were just discussing last night the status of our country and how disheartening it is to realize it may be ending, and then, I realized that's why God is calling us to turn another chapter in our life...to go into missionary work (short term and local) to get another perspective so mentally we can be prepared should the time of real persecution happen in this country and maybe garner a bit of Paul's courage. Beautiful.

Thanks Candy. Our mutual journey as widows has taught us many things about Jesus as our Bridegroom. Reading your comment, I was just made aware of how my relationship with Jesus should be like my relationship with John--easy conversation. When John and I ate dinners together we never ran out of conversation. When I have a long lunch with friends and we talk about what God is doing in our lives I leave with the feeling that I have been to a satisfying feast, and I know that this is because Jesus has been there with us. I am reminded of Malachi 3:16-17--He is recording these conversations! This is what prayer is.

This sounds not only like an excellent "must read" book, but an excellent study that you are working on. I never thought of prayer in the context of Jesus knocking on the door of my heart saying, "I miss you, Candy" and wanting to sit down and have a dinner conversation with me. That really touched my heart.

Since becoming a widow, I find myself in conversation with God all throughout my days alone. He will speak to me in many ways and I will respond with "Thank you, Lord". Just this morning I went out to try to reconnect my red mail flag to my mail box. My husband was able to fix anything and everything. Because I had watched him so many times, an idea of how to make this repair came into my mind. When I actually DID reconnect the flag to my mailbox, the first words out of my mouth were, "Thank you, Lord, for all the things I learned from Bob Feathers and for helping me figure out how to fix this!"

Thank you for this post, Kathy. I look forward to more on this study.

Thank you Nicole and thank you for commenting. I would love to have it in a magazine, and may submit it. I love that you "stumbled" upon my website looking for Corrie ten Boom! I like being in the same company as this woman :-) The book you mention sounds wonderful and I think I will try to order it on my kindle. I love anything about Corrie, and no I haven't read any Peggy Ruth Joyce's books. I will check out both these books. Thank you for your "book" ministry--the gift of good books is one of the greatest gifts one can give. My book was written about my story of my husband's illness with dementia. He has moved to heaven and waits to meet me there someday. Yes, it was very difficult, one of the most difficult experiences of my life--couldn't have done it without Him. But, as Corrie once said, "You never know that Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have." And this proved true in my journey. Bless you and thanks for writing.

My 69 year old husband has Dementia. I've been to a Care for the Caregiver's Group, one on one counseling, sat with a Lay Pastor from my church for 2 1/2 hours on Friday talking about everything we're going through. I'm not handling things well at all. I am in a constant state of anxiety, terribly lonely, contemplating an affair, but honestly don't think I could live with that, but don't want to live the rest of my life this way. I'm freaking miserable.
